Nick has worked in financial services since joining the Halifax in 1991. He spent 7 years with the bank before leaving in 1998 to start his own residential mortgage brokerage, Independent Mortgage Advice Bureau. In 2001 he also became a partner in an IFA practice, Independent Financial Advice Bureau, running this pension and investment business alongside the main mortgage firm. In 2009 Nick identified an opportunity to expand into the commercial finance market following the credit crunch and so joined forces with Jim Pearce in setting up Commercial Finance Practice, a company created to advise clients on property related commercial and development loans.

Nick has a wide ranging and detailed knowledge of both the residential and commercial property sectors and has built up an influential network of lender contacts across the finance industry.

Jim has been in financial services for over 40 years, working for major banks such as Halifax and Lloyds before entering broking in 2001. He set up Commercial Finance Practice in 2008 with Nick Wood to service a growing demand for business and development finance from clients and intermediary partners following the financial crash.

His extensive experience within the industry has enabled him to assist clients access commercial finance on market leading terms for both simple and complex deals.
